My earliest school memories are of playing inside my desk with erasers and pencils, creating a whole other world — completely unaware of what the teacher had said, what we were learning, or what I was supposed to be doing. I remember looking around, wondering how everyone else just knew what was expected. I’d follow what they were doing, or ask for directions, trying to keep up.
That feeling followed me into adulthood — the constant sense that everyone else had the manual for life, and I didn’t. I spent years trying to perform, trying to be someone I wasn’t, and always feeling like I came up short.
When I realized my children likely had ADHD, I began to dig deeper into how it shows up — especially in females. I have 11 children, and while not all of them are formally diagnosed, it’s pretty clear which ones meet the criteria. Some also have learning disabilities. As I learned more to support them, I started to understand myself in a whole new way too.
As a parent, I see it as my role to guide my kids toward discovering their strengths and passions. I don’t want their challenges to define them — and I don’t want mine to define me either.
This belief shapes everything I do in life and in coaching. I believe every person has strengths, no matter their diagnosis. ADHD brings challenges, yes — but also creativity, intuition, and energy. The key is learning to work with your brain, not against it. When we combine that with a growth mindset, everything changes.
When I began honoring my natural energy flow, recognizing my strengths, and prioritizing true self-care, I started to feel alive again. I now move my body regularly, fuel it with nourishing food, and rest in ways that restore me. The result? I’ve lost weight, yes — but more importantly, I’ve found joy. I’m a more present, fun, and kind mom. My confidence has grown. I’m showing up for my life in ways I once only dreamed of.
And now, I help other women do the same.
